Synopsis

Janaksuta Urmila is a heart-rending saga of Urmila and how she deals with a life of loneliness and tearing pangs of separation. Sita accompanies Lord Ram into exile for 14 years, and Lakshman chooses to go with them. Urmila, too, is eager to join them. However, Lakshman does not want to take Urmila along. Accepting his decision, Urmila chooses to remain in Ayodhya, waiting for him for 14 years. But how does she endure this? This poignant play highlights Urmila’s character and the strength of her resolve on a unique and rarely explored subject.
